After purchasing my VIOFO A129 Pro Duo, the VIOFO Circular Polarizing Lens CPL Filter showed up on my recommended list. I then asked myself the big question. Do I need it? Once I installed the VIOFO A129 Pro Duo I noticed reflections of the dash so that’s when I decided to buy the VIOFO Circular Polarizing Lens CPL Filter.
What is is Polarizing lens filter?
A polarizing lens filter is often placed in front of a camera lens and it helps filter out glare. Downside? A polarizing lens also causes image to be somewhat darker.

As you can see the polarizing lens filters out majority of the glare. There’s still some glare from the early collision warning light, but overall there’s better clarity. Do you absolutely need the filter? Based on the results, I would say the filter is a nice add-on to have but not needed. So if you can afford it then go for it!
